Discovering the Ancient Essenes

Join us for a three-week class to explore a truly unique spiritual community. Ancient historians who wrote about the Essenes describe them as a “race apart” and “utterly unlike other people” of their time. They sent teachers and healers out to serve the larger communities. There are some who believe that one of them was a man we now call Jesus of Nazareth.

Who were these people? When and where did they live, and how did they view spirituality–personally and as a community? What treasures have they left for us to discover and explore?
