Sunday Letter - Seeker-Order, Destroyer-Release (Elimination)

This is Week 4 of our 7-week series, “Awakening the Twelve Powers.” Our lesson theme includes two of our powers: Order and Release (Elimination). These are illustrated by the archetypes of The Seeker and The Destroyer. Sometimes we seek a new adventure in life, a new consciousness. That means letting go and changing in ways we never expected. When the dust settles, a new Divine Order takes place, much to our amazement.

In 2015, I was living in Southern California and attended the Southwest Unity Regional Conference held near Palm Springs. The keynote talk was given by Scarlett Lewis, the mother of Jesse Lewis, the six-year-old hero who was killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012 along with 25 others. Her message of forgiveness and compassion was almost overwhelming in its poignancy and purpose. I will be sharing some of her story in the Sunday lesson since it fits right in with our heroic journey through the twelve archetypal powers and is very inspirational.

She certainly was called to a change in consciousness and a whole new journey through her tragic experience. And she chose to take positive action, as did her older son who was twelve at the time. They have both become heroes as well. Their experience is a reminder that as heroes and heroines on our spiritual journey through life, it is not what happens to us, but what we do with it that is most important. I still feel awed and blessed by Scarlett and her story whenever I think about it.

We are all called to a new adventure in life that includes a new “Divine” order, one that is more in alignment with our journey to an awakened consciousness. The “call” to that adventure may come in many ways, and when it comes, we have a choice—to refuse and remain fearful, or to answer it and continue to grow and expand our horizons. For some, it is difficult to answer the call because it means moving beyond our comfort zones and reaching out to new horizons. In other words, it means change! And as humans, we resist change.

When we are aligned with Spirit, we can gather our courage and step into a new journey of surprising adventure. We gather allies, and we overcome our dragons (fears and inner conflicts) through the archetype of the Destroyer, our power of release and letting go. We activate other inner powers along the way until we return home, “knowing the place for the very first time,” in the words of T.S. Elliot.

Thank you, Loving Spirit, for the blessings on our journey, for the allies who help us along the way, for the ever-present Divine Order, and the ability to release, let go, and forgive.

Love & blessings,
Kathy
