Sunday Letter - Prosperity Truths

There is great power in giving. Because our body and our mind and the universe are in constant dynamic exchange, stopping the circulation of energy is like stopping the flow of blood. Deepak Chopra says, “Whenever blood stops flowing, it begins to clot, to coagulate, to stagnate. That is why we must give and receive in order to keep wealth and affluence—or anything we want, circulating in our life.”

The word affluence comes from the root word “affluere,” which means “to flow to.” It means “to flow in abundance.” Whether we are talking about money, which is a symbol of life energy, or whether we are talking about an expression of love, we must keep it circulating like a river so it remains alive and vital. It is a law that the more we give, the more we will also receive. Why? Because we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our life.

As we give, so do we also receive. As we circulate, so do we also experience the results of good circulation. And it is our intention that counts. It should always be to create happiness for the giver and receiver. And the act of giving must be joyful.

Unity has taught for over 133 years, “If you want joy, give joy to others; if you want love, learn to give love; if you want attention and appreciation, learn to give attention and appreciation; if you want material affluence, help others to become materially affluent. In fact, the easiest way to get what you want is to help others get what they want.”

This principle works equally well for individuals, corporations, societies, and nations. If you want to be blessed with all the good things in life, learn to silently bless everyone with all the good things in life.

I believe that an important way to create happiness and joy through giving is to cultivate a generous heart. Giving from a generous heart makes all the difference. Success is not about the amount of money we have in the bank, but about the deep-seated belief of abundance in our life. Success is about manifesting goodness for not only our self but for those around us.
