Sunday Letter - Advent Week 3: Blessings of Love

This week, on the third Sunday of Advent, the lesson is: “Blessings of Love.” If we choose to live our lives at the level of Christ Consciousness that we believe Jesus attained, then, we too must stand in a state of wonder and awe before the Universe, a state of love and oneness with God and one another. It is from that place that we are healed and that we also become the healers that we are. For he was the first to remind us, “You can do what I do and even greater things.”

Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore, once said, “Christmas is the most glorious tradition on the face of the earth, the sweetest story ever told, but it must be brought to earth, we must see that it is a part of our everyday living and that the Christ Spirit is continually being born in us.” Bringing Christmas to earth means that we remember that the message of the birth is love. And love brings the gift of new birth to us over and over again.

One father said, “As holiday preparations began around the house, our seven-year-old was sharing all of his worldly knowledge of Santa Claus with a neighbor's four-year-old. "Santa Claus works real hard making all those toys," he said, "and if you're not good, you won't get any." "Well," the four-year-old replied, "he can't be working that hard. He's always just hanging out at the mall." (William D. Olson, in Reader's Digest )

The birth is about a little child bringing greater light into the world. Whenever the Spirit of Love is present, we find the Christ…the good in all things. And that is our call—each one of us—to let our light shine and to be a bearer of light each day, by expressing love and truth and kindness and compassion wherever we are.

This is the Season of Love. Let your love shine brighter than ever!

Blessings of love,
