Unity North is having a Virtual Silent Auction to raise funds for our hybrid audio & visual equipment, which cost $5,500.
Our goal is to raise this amount or something better!
We titled it “Stone Soup Virtual Silent Auction,” based on the folk tale, “Stone Soup”
There was a starving traveler who went door to door in a village looking for donations of food. When the poor villagers could not help, except one who provided water, the Traveler said, “We will make stone soup.” He pulled out his “magic” stone and put it into the boiling water, and as people gather around, they become enthused to contribute something to the soup: potatoes, carrots, onions, and more, all from different gardens. And on it went until everyone had added something and a delicious soup was made that fed the entire village.
We know that all of the donations, bids, and purchases from this congregation and beyond can create a fabulous, successful silent auction that will benefit the entire Unity North spiritual community! Please join us in realizing that vision!

Unity North Stone Soup Virtual Silent Auction

Below is a list of ideas for donations, but the possibilities are endless! One exciting aspect of a virtual auction is that our out-of-state congregants can participate too.
DONATION IDEAS (Some can be virtual or in person)
- Handy-person services (1-2 hrs)
- Yard work/snow removal (1-2 hrs)
- Teach someone a skill - how to make bread, how to juggle, how to paint
- Soup for you! A pot of homemade soup delivered to winner
- Homemade pasta, homemade jams, or other unique foods
- Cookies, pies, or other baked goods delivered to winner
- A service from your profession
- Tickets to a movie or play or event
- Make a dinner for winner & guests
- Pet-sitting for a certain amount of time
- Road trip and lunch for donor and winner
- Donor treats winner and guest to a play or event in Twin Cities
- Babysitting for 2-4 hours
- Products - essential oils, original artwork, jewelry, produce, a throw blanket, a new puzzle, handmade scarf, hat, mittens, books
- Gift cards, any amount $10+
