Mother’s Day is always a time to pause and allow ourselves to be inspired by our own mother and by mothers everywhere. Our own mother may be or may have been an inspiration to us throughout our life, or she may be or may have been more challenging. Either way, we can be inspired by the fact that she helped to give us life! Each of us is here because of our mother and the miracle of birth.
Also, we can look at mothers in our families, in our communities, and throughout the world, and feel inspired by mother love and nurturing. True loving mother love is said to be the most powerful love in the world. It covers all extremes from pure tenderness to the fierce protective energy of a mother bear. Mothers are gentle caregivers and powerful warriors when it comes to their children.
We all have the ability to access that kind of mother love when we think about that which we love in the world: our families, our friends, our country, our planet. We can be gentle in our appreciation and gratitude and fierce in our protection.
We can also think of the Divine Mother in this same way. She has been called many names in various world cultures, and though the descriptions vary, there is always the soft, gentle, loving side, and the intensely protective side.
Let us remember and do something to honor our earthly mothers this Sunday. And let us take time to commune with the Divine Mother, especially at this time of need in our world. We can pray to her and for her, as we bless her and ask for her blessings upon us in our undertaking to save our country and our world.
Thank you loving Divine Mother for all the beauty, love, and wisdom that you bring to us always.
Love & Blessings,
Rev. Kathy
