As we gather in community in the Sunday Service today, our theme, "Equinox Equilibrium," invites us to step into the perfect stillness that sits at the center of all creation. This year, the autumnal equinox occurs precisely on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 7:05 p.m. CDT. In this exact, sacred moment, the Sun crosses the Earth’s equator, casting equal light and shadow across the globe.
The equinox is a Sacred Day because it serves as an external reflection of our internal divine blueprint. Historically and spiritually, it is a temporal sanctuary—a natural Sabbath where the Universe itself pauses in absolute, symmetrical harmony. For millennia, cultures have honored this day as a holy threshold to practice gratitude for the inner harvest and to intentionally release what no longer serves us.
In Unity, we recognize this alignment not just as an astronomical event, but as a living reminder of the Christ consciousness within us, which remains perfectly poised, whole, and undivided amidst the changing seasons of life.
Finding balance in the world today can feel challenging when we are bombarded by collective noise, division, and rapid change. Yet, the message of "Equinox Equilibrium" reminds us that true balance is not the absence of movement or chaos, but the discovery of our unshakeable center within. Just as the Earth continuously adjusts its tilt to find harmony with the Sun, we are called to return to our spiritual center through prayer, meditation, and conscious love.
