Welcome to Week 3 of our Coming Home Series. This week, we dive deep into the sanctuary of remembrance with our lesson, "Honoring Memories."
When we think of "Home," we often think of a physical place. But in our spiritual journey, Home is a state of consciousness. To truly return Home, we must understand the path that led us away. This Sunday, we explore memory through these distinct lenses:
- The Physical Science of the Brain: How our minds biologically store, protect, and process our lived experiences.
- The Human Experience of Our Collective History: How our shared stories weave the fabric of who we are as a community.
- The Eternal Spiritual Truth of Our Souls: How memory serves as the divine spark reminding us of our permanent connection to the Divine.
- Leaving Home & Returning Home: Every spiritual journey involves a departure—a moment where we "leave home" to explore the human experience, sometimes experiencing loss, forgetfulness, or a sense of separation. But memory is the internal compass that makes "returning home" possible. By honoring our memories—both the joyful milestones and the challenging lessons—we gather the scattered pieces of our history and bring them into the present moment. Remembering is an act of reclaiming our wholeness and anchoring ourselves back in the truth of who we are.
